1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
This has been "one of those weeks" for me. I don't prefer being in the valley, but I know that my stay won't be long and that my God is right by my side. While some valleys are harder to climb out of than others, God's word is always the unbreaking rope that gets me out. (Amen!)
The scripture above resonated with me during this valley visit. God tells us to REJOICE always. Whether high or low, we are instructed to rejoice. Never stop PRAYING. That's a self-explanatory statement. God wants to hear from us; our voice never gets old or annoying to him. GIVE THANKS in EVERYTHING! This is the kicker. It is hard to thank God when you really don't feel like it. But remember this: While we were sinners, Christ died for us. He traded his life for our trip to hell - the ultimate valley.
The valley you may be in right now does not compare to the glorious eternity that is waiting for you. Give thanks in the valley. You are there for a reason. Let the valley make you better, not bitter.
Believe me, I'm talking to myself. Perhaps, I'm talking to someone else, also.
