For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.
King Asa sought the Lord with all his heart and soul. Then one day, he stopped. This affected the people around him, the kingdom of Judah, but most of all it affected his relationship with the Lord. The latter is the saddest part because Asa loved the Lord and his walk reflected that. We read stories in the bible about people who were sold out for God, but eventually compromised in some way (King Saul comes to mind). God doesn't deserve that. He deserves better.
Lord, as we follow Christ, please help us to do better! Help us to learn from these stories and purpose to never compromise! When Your eyes search the earth, we want You to find our hearts perfect toward You so that You can show Yourself strong on our behalf! We praise, glorify and magnify Your Name throughout the whole earth. Hallelujah to the Lord our God - Amen!
